Part 2

This is what happened when I sat down to do my creative work today. I had nothing and wasn’t feeling at all creative. As a result, it was extremely tempting to grant myself a day off. As my own boss, I can do that, but I knew that the “boss,” the better me, really wouldn’t approve.

Empty, I forced myself to start. I stayed right where I was and began writing down exactly how I felt. That small act of listing my feelings caused the spark that became the catalyst I needed.

Every negative has a corresponding positive. Taking action and listing the way I knew I could feel if I did take advantage of this time, this gift of a day, was enough to spark the positive creative energy.

Action brought about the result. I could have wallowed in the negative and walked away from the day’s potential, my own potential. I chose to act. Taking positive action towards a negative situation never fails.

It’s creative physics.

  1. This is beautiful and wonderful, Lesley. I agree with you wholeheartedly on every point you made in this blog post. I teach papercrafting classes in my home, and I hope you don’t mind if I share this with my attendees. You said what I’ve always felt just perfectly. Thank you for your words.
