I currently have some young college students visiting our home, one who will become a doctor. I shared this video will all of them…..powerful statement and so very true. Whatever the hell ever happened to teaching our young women to love themselves for who they are and teaching them to walk tall in spite of what others may think. Mothers stand your daughters in front a a mirror and show them that they are beautiful inside and out! We shall call it the mirror project….
Christine, Thanks so much for sharing the video with them and then letting me know. I so agree with what you said. Even today I had to remind myself to walk tall and proud, even if I am a 59 yr old grandmother. I am beautiful too!
It so nice to know the ripple effect of charing this video.

OMG!! I am on an amazing journey at 57, after 4 marriages, 3 sons, to discover why, even though I was “pretty” my life has never been full. Adult female child of an father alcoholic says it all. Yes, I was ‘Pretty” but I felt unloved, misunderstood, isolated, scared, scared, scared, used for being “pretty” and very, very sad although from the outside looking in, you would think I had the world by the ass. In stead the world had ME by the ass. Until now! I am healing, gratefully before I become the cosmetic surgery junkie of my neighbourhood. I intend to share this with all of my neices and friends daughters who need to need to hear this now. Thank you Thank you Thank you
This was eye opening but soooo true. I have two small daughters and my husband and I both make sure to tell them every day how wonderful they are, and how smart they are, and how they can be anything they want to be. Great video!
I saw this posted on FB yesterday and this was my comment which is true.
“As the daughter of a mother who had a dye job, nose job, face lift and boob job I know the lasting effects those surgeries had on a frail 75 year old PRETTY amazing woman. Well, actually, none of them lasted except one. Any guesses? Yep,… just as perky as the day they implanted them 35 years prior and oh, so heavy on her body and her mind. No one would remove them because of her health, so they went with her all the way to the end. Not pretty.

Very powerful. As grandmother of two small girls I really relate to her last lines. I’ll be passing this on. Thanks, Leslie.
