Packing for the move goes slowly. An artist must check out every little thing when she decides to keep or toss. I’m tackling my art supplies/mixed media stuff and books first. The rest will be faster and easier – not so much emotion attached. I find it funny that I was beginning to whittle my stashes long before I knew I would be moving. Perhaps the Universe knew something I did not. In any event, that mindset – to reduce & simplify – makes all of this easier. I see that Claudine has the same attitude. It’s a serendipitous coincidence that we are moving on the same weekend and she is moving up here. I see lots of artist dates in our future.
Anyway, I’m just stopping in to tell you I have put 2 wonderful things on Ebay, in the hopes that you might do something wonderful with them. I’ve had them for years and just can no longer keep them for a “someday” project. First up is a photo album with over 250 photos of a little boy, Thomas Duncamp, and his family between the years of 1917 and 1928. Lots of great photos of babies, children, moms, etc. And the other piece de resistance is Agnes Elizabeth Galloway’s high school memory book. It looks so very reminiscent of my own, the way I saved movie passes, sweet love notes, clipping, etc. Agnes has done a fine job of chronicling her most formative years in Mt. Airy NC. She was voted the “most conceited girl” in the senior year Who’s Who, so perhaps you’ll want to find out why. Take a look on Ebay.
I’ve got to get back to the packing now. Be sure to bookmark my blog or sign up for new post notifications. I’m sure to have more things to pass on, sometimes maybe just for the cost of postage.

I like the idea of putting your things on ebay but how would we find them by subject? Do you have the time to put things in a “lot” and put them on your TypePad with a photo? Also, there may be a local art league that would be really interested in seeing your items. My husband would suggest an auction. Lots to think about. I’ll keep watching to see what you come up with. I wish you the very best on your move and look forward to hearing from you again.
