It’s done. I did it. I survived! 11 days away (including the 2 travel days)! I’m in my 6th day of recouperation, taking time to relax, reenergize, watch movies, clean my studio and be with family. It’s also time to plan, organize, weed and sift through all the ideas and enery that came my way in Houston. Here are some shots of my booth. I had so much fun planning it~
I spent a lot of time doing demoes. A picture is worth a thousand words, but a demo of ironing a picture onto fabric, it’s the ohhh and ahhh factor. That’s what I’ve always liked about transfers, that feeling of magic they create.
So what’s next? That’s what I’ve been asking myself all week. I have one last lecture to give this Wednesday at the Burke, VA Chapter of Quilters Unlimited . The lecture is “Making Time for Making Quilts,” my secrets to crafting a career in quilting in spite of no time and no space. Guests are welcome. I’ll be selling TAP, books, CDs and Fragments too.
Speaking of Fragments, I have many to add to the store just in time for holiday shopping. Treat yourself or someone you love to one (or more). I know you’ll find one that really speaks to you. Be sure to sign up for my newsletter, friend me on Facebook or follow me on Twitter so you know when they go online.
I’m really eager to get back into the studio (aka the other 1/2 of my bedroom), and do some fabric painting & stitching. You cannot go to the Quilt Festival and not be inspired by the beauty in the fabric that surrounds you. As I was cleaning yesterday, I made ‘possibility piles” of fabrics and as always was captivated by the beauty of the fabric. Soft still lifes.
And here are a few photos from the Quilt Festival:
The Fabric Forest was an exhibit by a quilt group in Gröebenzeller, Germany to represent the Black Forest of Germany. It was magic walking among them.

Sounds like you had a great time at Quilt Festival. Kona Bay Fabrics had a booth at the show right before Festival which was Quilt Market.
Loved seeing your Japanese prints as we love all Asian prints at Kona Bay Fabrics whether they are ours or not.
Glad you had a great time at Festival!!

Love the fabric forest! Somehow, in all the posts I have read about Quilt Festival, this is the first mention of the fabric forest. Fabulous! And I love the close-up. Your booth looked wonderful!
