What is it about my obsession with quotes? I have been collecting them since I was 13 and using them in my art for over 10 years. A quote is a wisdom sound bite about life. The quotes in my collection ring true for me. They open my eyes to what is real, what is genuine, provide the answers I search for and remind me of things I need to remember. This quote sums it up pretty well:
Science is organized knowledge.
Wisdom is organized life.
Emanuel Kant
One of the most frequent questions I get as a teacher and artist is, “Where do you find your quotes?” My short answer is, “They are everywhere.” But I know the asker wants a more specific answer and I am always happy to share my sources. So here’s my newest source, and by far my favorite. It’s fun, it’s interactive and it takes advantage of all the latest technology has to offer.
The video is advertising their iPhone app, but anyone can use their website, iWise.com. Warning! Plan to spend some time on their website., it’s addictive. Enjoy!

Hi Lesley,
Thanks for sharing the quote info… the best thing about your fragments is the “perfect storm” of them… fabric, quote, energy. It all comes together so perfectly. I know I have fabric and quotes and stuff, but I can never create the energy and essence of the fragments that you can. Now, off to the store to pour over and do my Christmas shopping! I know my sister will LOVE, LOVE, LOVE one!

Thank you for sharing this. I had been wondering of late where artists find all these quotes one constantly sees – I will paruse the site shortly. I am having a giveaway to celebrate my new etsy opening – Luscious Layers and thought you may like to pop over for a visit. Some luscious fabrics….
