Lunching & shopping yesterday in Old Town Alexandria (VA) with newly relocated (from Alaska) friend, Michael Landerman. After our yummy luch and a lot of girl-talk catching up, we hit the streets again. We are both attracted by glittery lights and could not resist the lure of Decorium. It's one of those shops where you want everything, you drool, gasp and sigh a lot and you search, search, search for something to buy, anything, especially when they're having a 25% off sale on EVERYTHING. But practicality rules and after all, we both had already finished our Christmas shopping, even the gifts we gift ourselves.
We spent our money wisely though, supporting some of the artists at the Torpedo Factory. We fell in love with Susan Finsen's circle paintings and were lucky to be able to afford one of her self-published book of paintings. The same went for Sheep Jones, Tory Cowles, Kathy Beynette, and Joan Ulrich . I was excitied to learn about the books that MAC users can self-publish and we PC people can get at Blurb.com.
Tory Cowles –
Yes! she uses fabric in her paintings. They are beautiful collaged paintings.
I hope you have enjoyed the eye candy. PS. Decorium has a great online shop. No sale prices though. :-(
